Decorah City Council approves remodeling of Country Inn & Suites

The Country Inn & Suites motel in Decorah will expand by 15 rooms, thanks to the Decorah City Council's approval of a site plan for the building.

The additional rooms will be part of what City Manager Chad Bird calls "a pretty substantial improvement" at the motel, with repainting and a complete remodeling of the existing facility.

Country Inn had applied for site plan approval two years ago, but did not immediately pursue the expansion and remodeling.  Because of that delay, it had to return to the Decorah City Council to ask it a second time for approval.
