Tour of energy projects shows Decorah's leadership in the field

Winneshiek Energy District lead a tour of seven renewable energy projects on Friday.

Tour participants visited three locations in Calmar in the morning and four locations in Decorah in the afternoon.  At Decorah Bank & Trust, tour participants learned that the bank has issued $1.2 million in loans for renewable energy projects in the past year.  At Decorah High School, Facilities Director Greg Schaller showed tour participants the geothermal and solar energy projects that were part of the recent high school renovation.
