The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa is reorganizing its Board of Directors and committees.
HSNEI is looking for volunteers to serve on the Public Relations/Community Affairs Committee and Fundraising Committee.
The fundraising committee is a new committee responsible for planning fundraising events, pursuing grants, increasing memberships and maintaining donor relations. Annual events include the Spring Fling highlighting vendors and adoptions, the Nordic Fest food booth, a fall dog walk, and the new annual signature event, Tails and Treasures. Planning has begun for Tails and Treasures. Monthly meetings will start in January as the process of selecting statues and artists to decorate the statues begins. A project plan has been written identifying monthly tasks to accomplish between now and August 21st, the date of the event.
The Public Relations/Community Affairs Committee oversees the volunteer training program, develops community education on animal issues, produces a monthly newsletter, leads shelter events and publicity, and oversees the membership program.
Volunteers are needed from Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek counties. If interested in serving on an HSNEI committee, please email hsneiowa@gmail.com.
