Area veterans were recognized in a variety of ways in Decorah on Tuesday, Veterans Day.
In addition to a morning breakfast and program at Decorah High School, veterans were recognized Tuesday at Winneshiek Medical Center.
Hospitalized patients were given red, white and blue carnations, as were , staff and visitors who are veterans. Said WMC Chief Administrative Officer Lisa Radtke, "We embrace the opportunity to care for veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms."
