Decorah School District enrollment remains stable

Certified enrollment numbers were released to the Decorah Community School Board at their meeting Monday night. Superintendent Mike Haluska said the certified enrollment was up 0.18 students, with total students served up by 11.48. Total students served is calculated to be 1697.30.   Haluska said stable or growing enrollment is always good news for funding, and that with the high school graduating one of its largest classes this past year and taking in a relatively small freshmen class, the increased elementary numbers bode well for the future.

Cresco is reported to be down 53 students, Allamakee down 33, and South Winneshiek down about 20. Decorah, Waverly and Oelwein were the three conference schools with increased enrollment numbers.
