first on decorahnews.com: Decorah choir members to appear on Norwegian TV

Norwegian public television network NRK later in November will be doing a live broadcast of Decorah choir members singing two hymns from the sanctuary of First Lutheran Church.

The broadcast is part of a project by NRK to record various Norwegian choirs singing through the entire new Norwegian Lutheran hymnal.

The Decorah choir members will be singing "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen" (in English) and "Nearer My God To Thee" (in Norwegian).  They will be conducted by Luther Associate Professor of Music Spencer Martin.  He will conduct the First Lutheran Church Choir, about 40 members of the Luren Singers, several singers from Northern Lights and members of other church choirs in Decorah.

The date of the live broadcast is Saturday, November 29 at 12:30 p.m.
