NICC Calmar to offer continuing education classes for realtors this week

NICC Calmar is offering several classes to real estate agents this week so they can meet their continuing education requirements.

"Facebook and LinkedIn for Real Estate Professionals" (#31410), from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.  This new class covers social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn which are powerful, cost-free marketing and networking tools that every real estate professional should be utilizing in today's competitive business environment. (2 hours Elective Credit.)

"Law Update" (#31411) will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Revisit Iowa Law concerning misrepresentation and fraud, agency, personal assistants, web sites and internet advertising. (8 Hours Mandatory or Elective Credit.)

"Real Estate Math Conquered!" (#31414) is designed to familiarize the student with the mathematics involved in the average residential real estate transaction. This new class is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. until noon Thursday. (4 hours Elective Credit.)

"Through Green Eyes" (#31415) will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday.  This new class helps real estate agents focus on the present amenities of listings to discover the future value of the home. Marketing and presenting a home by looking at the home through the green eyes of economic value and environmental value can give the agent's listings an edge in the competitive real estate market. (4 hours Elective Credit.)

"Making Technology Work for You: Electronic Mail and File Organization" (#31416) will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday.  This new 2-hour hands-on class offers busy real estate professionals tips for organizing and managing email and attachments. It will also address electronic file clutter and teach tips for quickly retrieving saved documents. Basic computers skills are required. (2 hours Elective Credit.)

"Ethics and Today's Real Estate World" (#31412) is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Friday.  This course explores the question of ethics as it applies to the real estate business world and the individual business of each licensee. As the class looks at the "right" or "wrong" of many real life situations, the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics is introduced as the measuring rod for ethical decision making. (4 Hours Mandatory or Elective Credit.)

"Buying Practices" (#31722) offers the person on the way to licensure and the newer salesperson a general working knowledge of the forms, legal documents, procedures, techniques and the applicable Iowa laws and rules, when working with buyers. Unravel the intricacies of disclosure and agency using class practice and exercises. Class will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday.  (12 Hours Mandatory Pre License, or Elective Credit.)
