Decorah motorist strikes pedestrian

A Waukon man traveling in a motorized wheelchair was struck by a Decorah driver on Broadway Street Wednesday afternoon.

Decorah Police say Anders Lovstuen was traveling across Broadway in the west crosswalk when he was struck by a car driven by 78-year-old Jennie Jordahl of Decorah.  Jordahl says she stopped to yield to a group of kids walking across the street.  When she started driving again, the left front end of her car struck Lovstuen.  Jordahl said she did not see Lovstuen.

Lovstuen struck his forehead on the pavement, but did not appear to have suffered any injuries.  Winneshiek Medical Center paramedics responded to a call by the police, but Lovstuen was not taken to the hospital.
