Decorah Police are raising money for the American Cancer Society by taking part in

The "fuzz" are going "fuzzy."

Decorah Police officers, dispatchers, office staff and other law enforcement officers are throwing away their razor blades in November and letting their beards grow.

It's an effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society through its "No Shave November" campaign.

Decorah police officer Chris Wuebker, who is coordinating the effort, says "It took a little bit of persauding," but now everyone has joined in, including clerical staffers, sheriff's deputies and dispatchers.

Wuebker wanted to do something to give back to the community and the no shaving November allows police officers "to have fun with it."

Donations can be dropped off at the Law Enforcement Center or by going on-line to the Decorah Police Department's No Shave November website.  The campaign will run through the end of November.
