10:40PM: Darrel Branhagen has won a State Assembly seat by 31 votes

The ballots have been counted in Winneshiek, Clayton and Fayette Counties--and unofficial returns show Republican Darrel Branhagen winning the race for Iowa House District 55 by 31 votes.

Precinct by precinct results in Winneshike County and vote totals from Clayton and Fayette Counties can be seen by clicking on the icon above, but unofficial vote totals show 5,955 votes for Branhagen and 5,924 votes for Edwards.

In a race where nearly 12,000 votes were cast, it's likely there will be a canvas of votes, but for now Branhgaen is the apparent winner.
