In a campaign appearance in Decorah on Sunday morning, Democratic Party U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Braley used wording from Republican Party U.S. Senate candidate Joni Ernst's most famous TV commercial to set forth what he saw as the differences between the two candidates.
Braley told the crowd of 50 people at Java John's that Ernst would "make 300,000 Iowa squeal in pain because we haven't raised the minimum wage." He used the same "squeal" term to say Ernst would cause pain to college students by allowing student loan interest rates to go higher. He also said Ernst would make Iowans squeal by abolishing the EPA, putting the environment at risk.
Braley said on his tour of Iowa he has seen "excited, highly-motivated Iowans" and urged those in attendance to finish the hard work of getting out the vote. "This election is going to decide the future of Iowa," he said.
