Republican Congressional candidate Rod Blum and Republican Congressman Tom Latham visit the Winneshiek County Republican headquarters in Decorah on Friday, speaking to a crowd of around 35 people.
Both men said voters should send a message to President Obama on November 4th by electing Republicans. "The middle class is getting squeezed," said Blum, adding that the country needs to reignite the economy. He also criticized Obama for pulling troops out of Iraq too soon and for growing the number of people who are dependent on the federal government. Blum said we are now in the sixth year of "the Obama disaster."
Latham, who used to represent Winneshiek County in Congress before reapportionment changed his district boundaries, told the crowd "President Obama has made JImmy Carter seem competent." He predicted victories for the Republicans on Tuesday because "All the intensity is on our side of the ballot."
