Two Decorah fitness-related businesses are enjoying their new surroundings. Reefuel and B.fit Studio have moved from the former Haugen Garage building in the 200 block of East Water Street to the former Depot Outlet building on Railroad Avenue.
They are holding an Open House from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday to show off their new facilities.
Reefuel owner Laree Schouweiler is enjoying her new yoga classroom, which includes eight radiant heating panels in the ceiling that enable some of the yoga classes to be taught in a warm atmosphere. The heat increases someone's flexibility, encourages sweating and provides an extra challenge to the workout, she says. In an adjoining large classroom there will be space for 12 indoor bicycles—with two additional bikes sponsored by Hovden Oil and Thrivent Financial. The extra space will be needed, since Reefuel has added some 6:00 p.m. classes and some core/cycling classes
B.fit Studio owner Alecia Bucksa likes the additional parking, men's and women's showers, main floor access and updated look of her facility. Like Schouweiler, she has been expanding class offerings at her facility, adding classes at 8:30 a.m., on evenings and on Saturdays. She says the classes attract all ages—ranging from 13 years old to 69 years old.
While the two businesses are owned separately, they have been working out the details of "crossover memberships" that will allow people to use both facilities. They are also offering trial memberships to new members to give people a chance to sample the facilities. B.fit Studio is offering a 30-day membership for $30 to new clients, while Reefuel is offering two weeks for $25.
Both Schouweiler and Bucksa say Sunday's Open House is free and open to the public—a chance to see the newly remodeled facilities.
