Democratic Congressional candidate Pat Murphy visit Decorah on Thursday as his election campaign heads into its final days.
Murphy visited with Winneshiek County Democrats on Thursday night and also spoke with Luther College Democrats Thursday afternoon.

He told the student audience that there are "huge differences" between his views and those of Republican candidate Rod Blum.  For instance, said Murphy, Blum is calling for the elimination of the Department of Education and the end of Pell Grants to help low-income people attend college.  He also said he supports a raise in the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour and removing the income cap on Social Security taxes, while Blum opposes the minimum wage and wants to privatize Social Security.  Murphy said Blum has been spending his time "attacking the President, attacking me, but not offering any solutions."
