230 people received training in Decorah this week on how to handle emergency situations.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office sponsored an appearance by FBI Special Agent Dr. Karie Gibson, who spoke both on "Active Shooter: Pre-Attack Behavioral Indicators" and "Threat Assessment Core Concepts."
Gibson's presentation was aimed at helping counselors, educators, law enforcement officers, E.M.S. personnel, private business managers and security officers.
Winneshiek County Deputy Sheriff Tim Felton organized the event, with assistance from Luther College, NICC, Racom Communications Corp. of Decorah, the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office and Winneshiek County's Information Technology Department.
