Books available for Library's history book discussion

The Decorah Public Library history book group later in October will meet to discuss David Fromkin's "A Peace to End All Peace: Creating the Modern Middle East 1914-1922."

For now, the library is announcing that copies of the book are currently available for checkout at the front desk.

Fromkin's book reveals how and why the Allies drew lines on an empty map that remade the geography and politics of the Middle East. He explains how the choices led the Middle East on a road that led to the conflicts and confusion that continue to this day.

The history book group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third or fourth Thursday of each month; newcomers are always encouraged to drop in. Call Kristin at 563-382-3717 for more information.
