This is Homecoming Week at Decorah HS

Decorah High School students will learn the identities of this year's Homecoming queen and king at an assembly at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the Decorah High School auditorium.

Queen candidates are Olivia Dieschbourg, the daughter of Heather and Matt Dieschbourg; Teeya Hovden, the daughter of Deneen and Troy Hovden; Riley Hubka, the daughter of Megan and Gary Hubka; Madison Ihde, the daughter of Michelle and Scott Ihde; Linnea Kephart, the daughter of Ann and Jim Kephart; and Anna Swanson, the daughter of Erin and Kurt Swanson.                   

King candidates are Charles Baldwin, the son of Anne Bulliung and  Daniel Baldwin; Simon Cropp, the son of Kristen Underwood and Hal Cropp; Jacob Hrdlicka, the son of Maureen and Jack Hrdlicka; Tyler Lubke, the son of Kim and Jon Lubke; Collin Nimrod, the son of Cristy and Andy Nimrod; and Ervin Yahr III, the son of Maureen and Ervin Yahr, Jr.

Junior class attendants are Linnea Carlson, the daughter of Andrea and Scott Carlson and Drake Bauer, the son of Suzi and Fred Bauer.

Sophomore class attendants are Claudia Cowie, the daughter of Elizabeth Bruening and the late Robert Cowie and Richard Weis, the son of Anita and Al Weis.

Freshman class attendants are Madilyn Fahey, the daughter of Jennifer and Jeremy Fahey and Avery Dugger, the son of Susan and Tim Dugger.

A pep assembly in the gym will follow the coronation.  The Homecoming Parade will follow the pep assembly, starting at 2:15 p.m. at the high school and proceeding east on Claiborne Drive to Riverside Avenue, where it will turn south to Water Street, then west on Water Street, turning north on River Street and proceeding past the post office, returning to the high school on Claiborne Drive.

The Decorah freshmen football team will play Waverly-Shell Rock's freshman at 5:00 p.m. at Viking Stadium, followed at 7:30 p.m. by the Viking varsity football team taking on Waverly-Shell Rock's varsity.  The Homecoming Queen and King and their court and parents will be presented at the half-time of the varsity game, along with a presentation by the Decorah High School marching band.
        
The 11th grade will host the dance from 9:30 p.m. until midnight Friday in the DHS gym.
