The Depot Outlet's move to a new location on Montgomery Street has worked out well, Depot Outlet Director Stacy Merrill has told members of the Decorah Lions Club.

Merrill said that sales are better than ever at the new location. The old building on Railroad Avenue has been sold and profits from that sale have allowed the organization to retire its debt.

The Depot Outlet is a non-profit organization owned by 33 Winneshiek County churches which operates a recycled clothing, books and household goods store. The Depot Outlet has a nine member board, which is elected by the member churches, and has 3 full-time and 16 part-time employees and 24 volunteers.

Last year the store had $600,000 in sales and donated over $108,000 to 56 non-profit organizations in Winneshiek County.
