A University of Montana student who used to attend school at Luther College was found Tuesday afternoon after being reported missing from a fishing trip Sunday.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office issued a missing person alert late Monday afternoon for 21-year-old August Kramer.  He had told his roommate on Sunday that he was going fishing, but did not return on Sunday.

Kramer reported that his vehicle broke down while he was driving on a dirt road near Lolo Hot Springs.  He tried to fix it, but could not.  He slept in his car both Sunday and Monday nights.  He had some granola bars to eat and water to drink.  An unidentified passerby found Kramer at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Friends of Kramer had mounted a search for Kramer, looking along roads in fishing areas in Missoula County.  Kramer's relatives in Minnesota and the Missoula County Sheriff's Office thanked social media followers for their help in the search.
