Luther announces four new hirings

Luther College has announced the appointment of one associate professor and three assistant professors.

Tony Mutsune of Mt. Pleasant has been hired as associate professor management and economics.  He was previously employed as a professor of economics and business at Iowa Wesleyan College and Jackson State University.  His teaching interests include business strategy, fundamentals of investments and international economics.

Rachel Brummel of Easton, Pennsylvania, has been hired as assistant professor of environmental studies.  She was previously employed as an assistant professor in environmental studies at Lafayette College. She has also served as a postdoctoral research associate and an instructor at the University of Minnesota-St. Paul.

Maren Johnson of Firecrest, Washington, has begun work as an assistant professor of Scandinavian studies at Luther.   Johnson was previously employed as a teaching assistant in the Scandinavian studies department at the University of Washington where she taught first and second-year Norwegian language courses.

Jill Wilson of Prairie du Chien has been hired as an assistant professor of education and coordination for music education at Luther.   Wilson was previously employed as an instructor of music education at Morningside College and a graduate course facilitator at Boston University. She has also served as a choir director at the First Presbyterian Church and Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
