62-year-old Dale Donahue of Mabel has been ticketed for drunk driving, not having a valid drivers license, running a stop sign and not having proof of insurance, following a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening on North Winn Road.
Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies say 51-year-old James Flynn of Decorah was traveling south on North Winn Road around 7:30 Sunday night when Donahue ran a stop sign on 360th Street and hit Flynn's truck and equipment trailer. Flynn's truck and trailer jackknifed and entered a ditch, with the truck rolling onto its top. Flynn and passenger 51-year-old Deb Flynn of Decorah were tended to by medical personnel at the scene. Another passenger in Flynn's truck, 48-year-old Glen Folstad of Decorah, had not been wearing a seat belt in the extended car section and was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center for "non-life-threatening" injuries.
Donahue was treated and the scene by medical personnel, then given a sobriety test, was arrested for third offense OWI and was taken to the Winneshiek County Jail. Police say Donahue also has an active arrest warrant from the Allamakee County Sheriff's Department.
