November ballot is now set

The November 4th ballot in Winneshiek County will be light on contested races.

Winneshiek County Treasurer Wayne Walter, Winneshiek County Attorney Andy Van der Maaten and Winneshiek County Recorder Teresa Bockman are all unopposed on the ballot.  There are just three candidates for three spots on the Winneshiek County Board of Trustees--Clark Goltz, Rick Burras and Judith Grotegut-Robinson.

Six people are in the running for five spots on the Extension Council--Kathy Moen, Delbert Smith, Bob Hemesath, Patricia Courtney, Dana Stendel and Norbert Lovstuen.

The two major contested races are for county board.  Incumbent Republican Dennis Karlsbroten will face Democratic challenger John Beard in District 1, while incumbent Republican Floyd Ashbacher will face Democratic challenger Barbara Massman in District 2.
