The Disabled Veterans National Foundation is giving a $9,468 grant to the Vet2Vet Mentoring Program at NICC Calmar to expand the programs provided to NICC students who are veterans.
At the NICC Calmar campus, the Vet2Vet program currently provides services that include peer mentoring, social networking, community engagement and other advocacy efforts to encourage military-friendly practices on campus.
Vet2Vet Mentoring Program supervisor Anna Stamat says the networking encouraged by the program is a critical factor in its success. "The Vet2Vet members understand one another and want to keep each other enrolled at NICC," Stamat said.
