A Decorah woman is being accused by an Omaha, Nebraska woman of taking her credit card information and using it to get a $500 cash advance.
WOWT Television in Omaha is reporting that Marie Tillman of Omaha ordered a $50 crocheted blanket from a website operated by Cheryl Albrecht-Zweibohmer. The blanket didn't arrive--but Tillman's credit card got charged $550 by Albrecht's company, "Snuggle Buggle Crochet Creations."
The company--which is registered to P.O. Box 135 in Decorah--gets an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau. Its Facebook website now appears to have been shut down.
Winneshiek County authorities have begun investigating the allegations against Albrecht-Zweibohmer. It's not the first time they have done an investigation. In December of 2012 four criminal charges alleging credit card fraud were filed against Albrecht-Zweibohmer for allegedly applying for a credit card in someone else's name and then using that credit card for purchases at WalMart and Casey's.
Albrecht-Zweibohmer was convicted on three of the four charges and sentenced to five years in prison. That prison sentence was suspended and she was put on probation on September 24th of 2013. Five months later she was ruled in violation of her probation and ordered to spend four days in jail.
WOWT Television in Omaha says investigators have received a total of ten complaints about the Snuggle Buggle Crochet Creations company's practices. Those complaints now are being passed along to Winneshiek County authorities.
