The New Minowa Players' production of "The Burnt Part Boys" begins Thursday and runs for five performances over the weekend.
The play is set in 1952 in coal mines where ten years earlier in the area called 'the burnt part' a tragic accident killed four employees from the Pickaway Coal Company.
Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the New Minowa Players Theatre at 906 South Mill Street in Decorah.
Tickets can be purchased at Oneota Community Food Co-op and one hour prior to the show at the theatre. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under.
Proceeds from Thursday night's show will go towards the 2015 New Minowa Players scholarship fund. These scholarships help area youth to continue their enjoyment of the arts as they go into college
