Three Winneshiek County farms recognized at Iowa State Fair

The Iowa Farm Bureau and the Iowa State Fair have recognized three Winneshiek County families.

Daryl and Donna Bergan of rural Decorah received the "Heritage Farm" designation, which is given to families which have owned Iowa farm land for 150 years or more.  The Bergans farm south of Decorah on Valdres Road.

Receiving plaques for being Century Farm owners were Larry Miller and Schmitt Farms, LLC.  The Century Farm ceremony is held to honor Iowa families which have owned Iowa farmland for 100 years or more.
