In a brief Monday meeting the Decorah Community School Board dealt with several routine business and action items. Items included:
• Concurrent Enrollment. The Concurrent Enrollment Contract with NICC was approved. This contract allows for dual enrollment of students in classes that fulfill both high school and college credit via NICC. Currently Decorah High School teachers offer 11 classes that meet the concurrent enrollment standards.
• Shareholders. Superintendent Mike Haluska said the Krista Vanden Brink had consented to stay on for another three year term. Jason Soland will be new member. Haluska said other appointments were pending.
• Level 1 and Level 2 Investigators. Leona Hoth and Adam Riley will be the Level 1 Investigators and the Decorah Police Department is named as the Level 2 Investigators. These appointments are named annually to address potential sexual harassment and abuse situations.
• Nursing. The Board approved a sharing agreement with North Winneshiek that will allow for the purchase of one day a week nursing service to supplement current staffing. Haluska said the need was based excessive paperwork requirements associated with the office.
