Candidates who want to be on the November ballot in Winneshiek County have less than three weeks to file nomination papers.
But as of Thursday morning, only one candidate—County Recorder Teresa Bockman—had filed papers. County voters will also elect a County Attorney, County Treasurer and two County Supervisors in November. Spots on several other elected boards will also be up for election: three spots on the Winneshiek Medical Center Board, seats on the Winneshiek County Soil & Water Conservation Board and positions on the Ag Extension Council.
Finally, while no signatures are needed for someone to run for Township Trustee or Township Clerk, candidates must still file an affidavit in order to be on the ballot.
