Decorah is losing its title of having Iowa's largest solar energy project

As of Thursday, Decorah will no longer have the largest solar energy project in Iowa.

Farmers Electric Cooperative will dedicate its newest solar energy project near Kalona on Thursday.  The project will have 2,900 solar panels on a four acre parcel of land near Kalona.

The new solar energy farm will be almost triple the size of the state's second largest solar farm in Decorah.
