Fans of the Decorah eagles start a petition asking President Obama to require power companies to add protection nationwide to poles and lines

     A group of eagle lovers and followers of the Decorah eagles is asking President Barack Obama for help in saving eagles.

The group as started a petition at 'We The People' at www.whitehouse.gov that asks the administration to enforce a law that makes it mandatory for power companies to add protection nationwide to poles and lines at minimal cost to them.

One of the organizers, Danna Simpson, says, "This is not a political issue, we just want the law enforced."

The group has until August 8th to raise 100,000 signatures on-line.  If that happens, the Obama Administration must publicly respond to the petition.
