Reduced rate athletic physicals continue in August

Football season and cross country season are just around the corner, as are other fall sports.

So Winneshiek Medical Center Clinic, Ossian Clinic and Mabel Clinic are reminding the public they offer reduced-rate athletic physicals to all area athletes for only $30. 

The $30 program requires payment at the time of service.  If you choose to submit to insurance, the regular office fee will apply and WMC will submit it for you.  Check with your insurance provider for benefits that may or may not be available for athletic physicals.  Vaccinations are not included in this special program, vaccinations can be arranged at another date, with parental consent.  A free optional musculoskeletal screen is provided with all athletic physicals.  Each student should bring a completed Iowa or Minnesota athletic physical form, which is available from their school or on the medical center web site at http://www.winmedical.org/athletic-physicals.

The assessments are performed by certified athletic trainers in the Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Department at WMC. The screening covers joint flexibility and strength, posture, joint stability, injury history review, and information on strength and conditioning for the athlete.

The discounted program for $30 does not cover camp-required physicals or college physicals other than athletic college physicals.
