Mayo Clinic has honored Winneshiek Medical Center for its achievements in several categories of providing service.

WMC's Obstetrics Department and its Emergency Departments have scored in the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide for overall patient satisfaction.  The hospital as a whole scored in the top ten percent nationwide for patient rating items that encompass nine key topics: communication with doctors, communication with nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management, communication about medicines, discharge information, cleanliness of the hospital environment, quietness of the hospital environment, and transition of care.

Meanwhile, WMC Chief Nursing Officer Linda Klimesh has been nominated for Mayo Clinic's and Mayo Clinic Health System's "Mae Berry Award," which recognizes health staff members who provide exemplary service to patients and/or co-workers.  Candidates must exhibit excellence in customer service by giving timely, reliable attention to the needs of patients, clients and co-workers; display sincere pride in being a service worker; work with teams and share resources to make Mayo Clinic Health System the first choice of patients and staff; and motivate and inspire others to replicate service behaviors.
