WCHFH will be building its 28th home this fall in Spillville. Founded in 1992, the affiliate has built homes in Burr Oak, Calmar, Castalia, Decorah, Freeport, Ossian, and Ridgeway. WCHFH serves low-income families who have sufficient income to pay a 25-year interest free mortgage and give 150 hours of "sweat-equity" labor to the project per family member.
Don Kemp, memorialized in the golf tournament name, was the volunteer Executive Director of Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity affiliate until his death in 2003.
