Police release results of holiday Special Traffic Enforcement Program

The Decorah Police Department has reported results from the Fourth of July Special Traffic Enforcement Program.  Police made one drunk driving arrest, one driving while suspended arrest and issued 14 traffic citations.  Police also made one narcotics arrest and had one search involving the use of the police dog.
 
Seatbelt usage improved following the increased traffic enforcement.  Before the STEP, seat belt usage was 86 percent.  After the increased enforcement, seat belt usage was 93 percent.
