Two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 causes $16,500 in damages

Decorah Police were called to Highway 9 around 3:30 p.m. Monday to handle a two-vehicle accident.

Police say 39-year-old Yvonne Demirel of Norway changed lanes in front of a truck from Reiser Implement being driven by 25-year-old Ryan Childs of New Albin.  Child attempted to avoid contact, but jackknifed and hit Demirel's vehicle.

Neither driver was injured.  No tickets were issued.
