(John e-mails Mr. Answer Person): Gnats have been subject to much publicity lately but there has been an absence of splattering bugs on the front of my car and on the windshield so far this season. This seems quite strange for the time of year. Any deep thoughts on this subject?)
Mr. Answer Person says: "By definition, a gnat is 'a tiny two-winged fly.' So have you considered the possibility that your windshield is getting hit by gnats--but the 'splatter' is too small to notice?"
