Map of Winneshiek County trails now available

A new map featuring the paved trails of Winneshiek County is now available. The map updates and brings together the maps of the Trout Run Trail and the Prairie Farmer Recreational Trail, and is folded to fit easily in a pocket.

In addition to providing an easy-to-read overview of both trails, the map shows amenities that users of both trails can access, including restrooms, parking areas, showers and dining, lodging, shopping and recreation opportunities.

The map also features general bike safety information and information on where bikers can rent, tune-up or purchase bikes and equipment.

The new map is currently available through the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Decorah Parks and Recreation, the Winneshiek County Conservation Board, and Calmar City Hall. It will also be distributed to additional businesses and organizations locally and across the region and state.

Online versions of the map are or will be available at the websites of many of the organizations listed above.

The project was funded in large part by the Iowa Tourism Office, with additional support from the Decorah Hotel/Motel Marketing Committee, the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the Winneshiek County Conservation Board, and Erdman Engineering.
