Winneshiek County Engineer Lee Bjerke on Monday told county supervisors he expects the damage caused by recent flooding along the Yellow River to reach over $200,000.
"The river went crazy," Bjerke told supervisors as he listed roads damaged by high waters.
The most expensive repairs will be needed along 177th Street, where replacing the culvert is expected to cost around $75,000, according to Bjerke. He's recommending a 12 foot tall by 10 foot wide culvert be installed.
Bjerke says flooding did damage in four other locations in southeast Winneshiek County, between Ossian and Castalia.
