Flash Flood Warning extended to 4:30 p.m. for southern Winneshiek County

The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning to 4:30 p.m. Thursday--but only for the southern half of Winneshiek County.  The Flash flood warning also covers northern Fayette County, southern Allamakee County and all of Clayton County.

Rainfall totals from the current round of storms could reach as high as seven inches.  Law enforcement sources say they have already received reports of 3 to 5 inches of rain falling in some locations.  Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible, according to the National Weather Service..
