The Decorah Fire Department responded to a house fire early Thursday morning at 1010 Linden Street.
Family members say they were awakened by a lightning strike which caused light smoke, which set off the smoke detectors. The family left the house and reported the fire.
Firefighters located the fire in the space between the basement ceiling and under the main flooring. The fire was extinguished quickly. The home had working smoke detectors. There were no injuries reported.
The Decorah Fire Department was on scene over two hours. Firefighters were assisted by the Decorah Police Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Alliant Energy and Black Hills Energy.
