Storm blows through Winneshiek County

Law enforcement officials in Winneshiek County spotted two funnel clouds on Monday night, but neither funnel cloud touched down and no damage was reported.

The funnel clouds were spotted near Calmar at 8:29 p.m. and one mile east of Frankville at 8:57 p.m.  Wind damage was also reported north of Festina due to the storm.

Fayette County authorities reported some storm damage there.  A cattle barn five miles north of Wadena collapsed, with around 150 cattle trapped inside.  Extensive damage occurred in Wadena, where power lines and trees were blown down and a church roof was damaged.  A barn west of Wadena also was damaged, with cattle trapped inside.
