Project Care started four years ago as a way to help kids who are not only graduating from high school, but also "aging out" of Iowa's foster care system. The project is dedicated to helping these young people furnish their dorm rooms or apartments as they begin this new chapter in their lives.
This year three graduating high school students who were leaving the foster care system got support from Project Care. "Each of them had significant need and each of them was exceedingly grateful for the support", said Carol Birkland, a Project Care founding member.
