The JC Penney's building in downtown Decorah may officially have a new owner by the end of the month.
Decorah businessman Stan Fullerton says he has reached an agreement with the current owner of the building--a Twin Cities investor--to purchase the building. The sale is expected to close by the end of the month.
The sale of the building comes as JC Penney's has just signed a lease extension that runs through the end of 2017.
The new ownership and the lease extension are seen as important steps in having the Penney's store remain an important part of Decorah's downtown in the future.
