The North Winneshiek School Board on Monday approved three priorities to discuss with state legislators for next year's session. The priorities will be forwarded to the Iowa Association of School Boards.
The school board called on the state legislature to set the allowable growth rate no lower than 4 percent. It also asked the legislature to increase funds to offset transportation costs for rural schools. Finally, the school board approved a statement encouraging the federal and state governments to adequately support mandated special education programs.
