A judge has denied an appeal of the sentence handed down for 51-year-old Amy Downing of Decorah, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison on drug charges stemming from a police investigation into an alleged meth lab in Decorah.
Downing plead guilty to Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a Class C felony, and Possession of Pseudoephedrine, A Drug Precursor, a Class D felony. She was then sentenced to ten years in prison on the Class C felony and five years in prison on the Class D felony, with the terms to run concurrently. She later appealed that sentence, but had that appeal rejected.
On Thursday, December 12th, Decorah Police raided the house at 2474 Dogwood Road and said they found evidence of a previous meth lab operation. They returned to the house on December 27th and allegedly again found evidence of meth production.
