Some of last year's activity

There was a time when many church held Vacation Bible School in July or in August.  B ut a growing number of churches--such as First Lutheran Church in Decorah--now hold VBS right after school gets out.

First Lutheran Church will be holding "Wilderness Escape: Where God Guides and Provides" next week--from 8:30 a.m. until noon MOnday through Friday, June 2nd to the 6th.

4 year olds through 5th grade students will step back in time at Wilderness Escape to explore some of the adventures faced by Moses and the Israelites. Students will participate at the Israelite Camp, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into Bible-times snacks, visit Moses, and collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God's Word. Plus, everyone learns to look for evidence of God all around them through something called "God Sightings."  Each day concludes at Celebration—a time of upbeat worship that gets everyone involved.  Students also will do service projects, such as singing at the Aase Haugen Home and decorating flip flops for Operation Christmas Child.
