The Decorah-based 322nd Engineer Company is wrapping up another overseas trip--this time to the Dominican Republic, instead of to Afghanistan.

Company members are taking part in a humanitarian civic assistance mission called "Beyond the Horizon 2014" in Barahona, Dominican Republic.  322nd Engineering Company members are helping to build schools and clinics for the local citizens.

The deployment to the Dominican Republic was part of their annual training to hone their skills and to learn different tasks.

The U.S. Army reservists laid the last concrete block of a school being built at Pescaderia, Barahona, Dominican Republic.  The next group of reservists will follow up with the completion of the roof and start on theinterior electrical work.

Sumner, Iowa resident Spc. Justin Smith said, ""I enjoyed working with the (local) engineers here."
