Should golf carts be allowed on city streets in Decorah?

The Decorah City Council has approved a permit for an August 14th ride through Decorah by all terrain vehicle owners.

But in the process of reviewing the city's rules about ATVs, city officials have discovered their ordinances need updating.  One of the ways the ordinances might be updated would be by adding language banning golf carts from driving on city streets.

City officials say the new ordinance would include language allowing the issuance of special permits.  Such language would allow the Nordic Fest Board to use golf carts during the Fest.
