Decorah 7th graders participate in a project to help domestic abuse victims

In at least one way, being a victim of a domestic abuse situation is similar to having a fire in your home.  That's because abuse victims often leave their homes with only the clothes on their backs--just like they would if a fire had broken out.

So Decorah seventh graders have participated in a program to donate bags filled with needed supplies for families of the Domestic Abuse Resource Center.

On Monday afternoon the students gathered in the Decorah Middle School Library to discuss the program and the bags they had put together.

An assembly of all Middle School students will be held May 27th to let the whole school see what has been collected.
