John Cline first graders Addy Albertson, Charlie Brandel, Christian Stano, Landyn Hook and Anthony Kocian enjoy their Black Hill Spruce seedling trees.

400 first grade and special education students at John Cline Elementary and St. Benedict's School in Decorah, South Winneshiek Elementary and DeSales in Ossian, North Winneshiek, Turkey Valley and CFS in Spillville earlier this month participated in planting trees.

Fort Atkinson Nursery donated seedling Black Hill Spruce trees to first grade and special education students in Winneshiek County Schools.  Scott Sindelar from Fort Atkinson Nursery, ISU Extension and Outreach staff and Winneshiek County Master Gardeners Joy and David Roslien, Jim Lage, Donna Ashbacher and Bob Davis helped teach students how to plant and care for their trees.
